In 1970 Keith James Russell and Ian Clifford Garbutt had a business idea of importing specialist North American Indian moccasins to the UK market. The idea proved to be a good one and putting together the two middle names of the two partners Clifford James was born.
Clifford James operates from a modern 150,000 Sq.ft warehouse and office complex in Skelmersdale, employs over 120 people and has a database of 800,000 loyal, satisfied customers.
Clifford James was acquired by BVG Airflo Group in 2005 and today forms part of one of the largest groups of independent specialist catalogues in the country. Clifford James still retains its unique identity but has the backing and resource of a group that understands the multi-channel market place inside out.
Today our product range has grown to include innovative items for the home and garden and a formal shoe and clothing brand Samuel Windsor.
Although, the business has become one of the largest suppliers of shoes via mail-order in the UK, we have never lost sight of what has taken us here, namely quality, value for money and superb customer service.
